NDIS Support

Counselling and movement-based support for NDIS participants

At The Active Counsellor, we provide person-centred counselling and movement-based support designed to help people build confidence, connection, emotional wellbeing and greater participation in everyday life.

Our approach is different. Where appropriate, sessions can take place through movement whether that’s walking, at the gym, outdoors or through other activities that help you feel comfortable and engaged.

We support NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed.

Who we support

Our services may be suitable for people working towards goals relating to:

  • Emotional wellbeing and resilience

  • Social connection and community participation

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Building routines and independence

  • Managing life transitions and change

  • Burnout and stress

  • Identity and self-confidence

  • Neurodivergence

  • Disability and adjustment

  • Building healthy movement and lifestyle habits

Every person is different, so we take the time to understand what matters to you and what you want to work towards.

Our Approach

We don’t believe counselling has to mean sitting in a room talking for an hour.

Depending on your goals and preferences, sessions can include talking, walking, movement, exercise-based activities, breathwork or other practical strategies.

The goal is to create a space where you can feel comfortable, understood and supported while working towards meaningful goals in your everyday life.

NDIS provider status: The Active Counsellor is an unregistered NDIS provider.

We currently support participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. We are unable to provide NDIS-funded supports to participants whose plans are NDIA-managed.

NDIS funding can only be used where the support is an appropriate and allowable NDIS support in accordance with the participant’s plan and current NDIS rules.

Participants and/or their plan manager are responsible for confirming that our services can be purchased using their available funding before commencing services.

A service agreement can be provided outlining the services, fees, frequency and terms of support.
